HISTORY AND HERITAGE Committee: HISTORIC LANDMARKS
At present, there are four National Historic Civil Engineering Landmarks designated in the Seattle Section area. These landmarks identify historic projects that have contributed to the advancement of the profession and the development and growth of United States. Look for the ASCE plaques at each of these locations:
- Cedar Falls Hydroelectric Project, North Bend, WA (designated in 2000)
- Lake Washington Ship Canal & Hiram M. Chittenden Locks, Seattle, WA (designated in 1997)
- Railway Tunnels Under and Switchbacks Across Stevens Pass, North Cascades, WA (designated in 1993)
- Snoqualmie Falls Cavity Generating Station, Snoqualmie, WA (designated in 1982)
- Lacey V. Murrow Floating Bridge, Seattle, WA (designated in 2008)
